Position Overview
Teague Electric is seeking a Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician to serve as an instructor for our IEC First-Year Apprenticeship Program. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping apprentices develop the technical knowledge, code understanding, and professional skills they need to build successful careers.
Classes will be held during the workday at our Lenexa, Kansas training facility using the nationally recognized IEC apprenticeship curriculum.
This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 5 hours per week per class. We anticipate offering one or two first-year classes this fall. Applicants are welcome to teach one class or multiple classes based on their availability.
What You'll Do
- Teach the nationally accredited IEC first-year apprenticeship curriculum
- Explain electrical theory, National Electrical Code requirements, and industry best practices
- Lead classroom instruction, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on learning activities
- Encourage participation and create an engaging learning environment
- Evaluate apprentice progress and provide coaching and feedback
- Serve as a mentor and role model for future electricians
- Work closely with Teague Electric and IEC staff to ensure apprentice success
Qualifications
- Current Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and electrical theory
- Commercial electrical experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for teaching, coaching, and developing others
- Previous instructional or training experience is helpful but not required

Work Schedule
- Part-time
- Approximately 5 hours per week per assigned class
- Daytime classes
- In-person at Teague Electric's Training Center in Lenexa, Kansas
Compensation: $40.00–$45.00 per hour (based on experience)
